We are thrilled to announce that our Head teacher, Mrs Andrea Walker, has been awarded National Leader of Education (NLE) designation and our school has now become a National Support School (NSS). This is in recognition of our in-school achievements and of the quality of support we are able to provide to other schools. This term (Autumn 2017), Mrs Walker and other staff are supporting several schools across Cumbria; this includes Mr Phil Cooper being seconded as Acting Head in Brough Primary School for the term.
Our pupil results for 2017 are again amongst the highest in the county and nationally. In the 2016 national school performance tables, our school ranked 5th nationally when our overall performance at KS2 was compared with similar schools across England.
Our fund-raising appeal to buy Solar Panels for our link school in Senegal has been a fantastic success! Thanks to everyone who helped contribute, we have now raised a total of £1,539, which is enough money to provide a panel electricity for every classroom! This year (2017-18), we have decided to continue our appeal and raise enough to buy a generator which will provide enough power for computers. To donate, please contact us here at school.
